Landscapes in Mesquite, Nevada

Photo of the sunset in Mesquite Nevada

Last night I went out to practice shooting landscapes. I found a spot that overlooked the entire Virgin Valley just about twenty minutes before sunset. I shot photos in all directions to see how the light of the setting sun would take effect from all directions. I managed to get a few photos of the sun as it was setting that I felt turned out really well.

I was also practicing a new technique I’ve been reading about on tutorials and other blogs using the Photoshop merge to HDR. I set my camera so that it would shoot in AEB mode where it would shoot three times with different exposures. I set it to shoot with a +1 and -1 stop. Most of the photos in this gallery were completed though this technique. I hope you enjoy my photos.

Begining Photo Blog

We will soon be turning this blog into a photo blog to highlight the photos taken by Richard Winn Lead designer for Virgin Valley Design.

Virgin Valley Design Goes Live

The Virgin Valley Design website went live today.  There are some minor aspects that need to be updated, but those are just cosmetic in nature.  The site going live coincides with the newspaper release of photographs taken by lead designer Richard Winn.  The paper featured two full pages of photos taken at the Beaver Dam Elementary School Christmas program.  On another page of the paper photos taken by Richard featuring the presentation of the Patriot Pen award at Hughes Middle School in Mesquite, Nevada.  The Patriot Pen award is a program offered by the VFW in which the children are asked to submit essays and then those essays are judged by a panel of three school teachers in the area.  The winners’ essays are then forwarded to the state level competition and if winning state they can then go on to the nationals.  The news articles were featured in the Desert Valley Times the local free news paper here in Mesquite, Nevada.  Virgin Valley Design is happy to be working closely with the DVT to get quality photo’s into the local news.
