I had the great pleasure of joining the Young family to celebrate Verus and Larry Young’s 44th wedding anniversary. This one was special as Verus finally got to have the wedding cake that they didn’t get when they were married. Larry was involved in a car accident the night before their original wedding date and so the couple were married in one of Las Vegas’s premier wedding chapels of the time with none of the traditional wedding activites, but last night Verus was very happy to finally have her cake and eat it too. Last night I went out to practice shooting landscapes. I found a spot that overlooked the entire Virgin Valley just about twenty minutes before sunset. I shot photos in all directions to see how the light of the setting sun would take effect from all directions. I managed to get a few photos of the sun as it was setting that I felt turned out really well.
I was also practicing a new technique I’ve been reading about on tutorials and other blogs using the Photoshop merge to HDR. I set my camera so that it would shoot in AEB mode where it would shoot three times with different exposures. I set it to shoot with a +1 and -1 stop. Most of the photos in this gallery were completed though this technique. I hope you enjoy my photos.
